RIPROC BOP was band based out of Albany, New York which rocked the decade with it's pop-rock, blues rock and classic rock hits. The band consisted of Freddy Gianetti and Brad Jarvis on guitar and vocals, Jimmy Robinson on keyboard and vocals, Johnny Baker on drums and vocals and Michael Bowman on bass. RIPROC BOP was first signed to Overwellum Records to release "Don't Try This At Home" in 1986 and later to Bag O' Records to release their final album, "Rebels Without Applause," in 1989. The band parted ways shortly after.
Being a huge music lover, I purchased a Sony PS-LX300USB turntable in the winter of 2014 in order to listen to new and old releases on vinyl. Subsequent to my purchase, my stepdad unearthed an old RIPROC BOP record, "Don't Try This At Home," which he had listened to back in the day when vinyl was still the primary format for music distribution. Since I ended up liking the band and my turntable had USB capabilities, I plugged my turntable into one of my computers, installed Sony Sound Forge, played and converted the record from analog audio to .m4a digital audio, and broke up the tracks using Windows Movie Maker. After digitizing the album, I digitally remastered the album cover and logo, created a website to host the download, and uploaded an enormous amount of content. I hope you enjoy listening to the third or fourth greatest rock band in history!
